Abstract Nitrogen oxide emissions from cement industry have greatly promoted the formation of haze weather. Current denitration technologies can hardly meet the increasingly stringent emission requirements. Here we proposed an innovative method called "rear independent reduction" (RIR) to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions from the cement kiln.

Therefore, a sludge denitration method should be researched to promote its engineering application, realize the resource disposal of sludge, and NO X reduction of cement kiln flue gas. In this study, experiments were conducted to assess the feasibility of using sludge as a flue gas denitration agent for the cement industry.
